It was a day prior to diwali and all the children had happy faces with small packets containing new clothes, sweets and fire crackers donated by well wishers. Roshini home has 40 kids and is managed by Mrs. Roslyn Vinolia who is a mother to all the kids. All the children fondly call her Amma and she loves it. Roslyn manages the care center with her own resources and the support of a small group of well wishers. During our interaction Roslyn told me that she was looking for a sustainable source of support as the expenses have shot way above what she can manage. All the chldren go to school and are given both skill and value education besides academic lessons from the school they attend. Roslyn stresses that no kid is unwanted and that God has a place and a purpose for each kid. She told me that these kids had a difficult time in the past for no fault of theirs. Family disputes, addiction to alcohol and other unwanted habits have had their toll on these children. It is for this reason that Roslyn is very particular that all the kids have a good and proper education as this would help them lead responsible lives when they grow up.
