| 1 | 2007-06-21 13:57:36 | 1 | Yvonne Payne | Ireland | Mr.Gowrikanthan is a slave driver to the children under his care. i am a volenteer from ireland and i visit the village regularly, in which he has set up his orphanage. the children under his care are made to stay at home from school and work at the hostel. all the sewing machines and other equipment and essentials were donated to him by our organisation with a good intention but when i visited his orphanage and what i witnessed made me to realise we were conned by him. children were tied to the trees for 24hours as punnishment. their diet was apauling. all the toys and clothes we gave were taken from the children. we were giving him 35,ooorupes per month since the origin of his orphanage. in fact it was our organisation New Dawn set him up to establish an orphanage as we had pure good intention to serve the needy. i visited the guardians of these children recently and they told me of the way their children have been beaten by this man and are afraid to speak up. these poverty stricken people cried to me about how Mr.Gowrikanthan demanded 10,000rupees to leave their children in his orphanage, yet our intention sending this money to him was so that the children are accomodated with no charge what so ever. please ignore any of his plea's regarding looking for co-operation or support. it certainly doesnt reach the needs of the poor. if you need any more information please contact me at yvonnebridget@yahoo.com or contact Krishnagiri police station.
